Put down your rock

rock with handprint

Put down your rock.
You don’t need to throw it.
I am just like you.
I love and am loved.
I have a family, friends, and passions.
I get up every morning and get ready for the day.
I crawl into bed when the day has ended.
Just like you.
I am just like you.
I have blood flowing through my veins,
A heart that beats,
A mind that thinks,
A mouth that speaks,
Eyes that sparkle,
And sometimes shed a tear.
You see? We are not so different,
You and I.
Put down your rock.
Here, place it next to mine.
We can begin to build a bridge.
