Double Haiku Silliness

This blog post by a co-worker made me laugh.  And it reminded me of a Haiku I wrote last year when I was up in the middle of the night cleaning up after my old dog.  Yes, I wrote a poem at midnight when I should have been sleeping.  Here it is.  It’s a double haiku with a title that makes use of alliteration.  Went all out with this one….

Mopping the Mistake at Midnight

Drifting off to sleep
I’m conscious of a whining.
It pulls me awake.

Grumbling I arise
To let the dog out. Too late!
A puddle of pee.
